Tour Plan
Day 01 : Arrival - Negombo
When you arrive, your private chauffeur guide will meet you at the airport arrival hall and drive you to the hotel in Negombo (about a 20-minute drive). Afterward, you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 02 : Dambulla - Sigiriya
We depart after breakfast for the drive through coconut palms, paddy fields, and banana plantations to Dambulla. Here, we visit the magnificent Cave Temple, one of the most impressive sights in Sri Lanka. Inside the caves, there are colorful and well-preserved paintings, as well as Buddha statues, dating back to the first century. We then continued to Sigiriya (Lion Rock).
Day 03 : Sigiriya
Today, you will be exploring the mighty Sigiriya, an elevated and mysterious 5th-century fortress.
Known as the 'Lion Rock,' this citadel boasts unusual beauty as it rises 200 meters from the scrub jungle,
making it visible for miles. You will have the opportunity to visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya,
which are located in a sheltered pocket of the rock, accessible via a spiral stairway.
Afterward, we will return to our hotel. In the afternoon, there is an optional game drive available in either Minneriya National Park,
Kaudulla National Park, or the Hurulu Eco Park, where you can observe elephants in their natural habitat. For those who prefer not
to join the game drive, you can relax at the hotel.
Day 04 : Girithale - Polonnaruwa
After breakfast, we depart for Polonnaruwa. En route to Giritale, we make a stop to see the stunning Aukana Buddha statue, which overlooks the scenic Girithale Tank and Village. We then hop on local bikes and enjoy a leisurely cycle through small villages and lakes, followed by a traditional Sri Lankan lunch. Afterward, we proceed to our hotel in Polonnaruwa.
Day 05 : Polonnaruwa - Kandy
After breakfast, we take a short drive to the 10th-century capital of Sri Lanka: the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (a World Heritage Site),
which was the ancient capital of the Sinhalese. There are many Buddhist relics and ruins here, dating back 1,000 years ago when Sinhalese
culture reached its zenith. We visit many temples, palaces, huge dagobas (Buddhist stupas), and have a remarkable lunch.
Afterwards, we head into the hills to the picturesque town of Kandy. Along the way, we make a stop at a spice garden near Matale, where we
learn about various spices and herbs growing. There is also a chance to stock up on fresh spices, massage oils, and Ayurvedic medicines.
Day 06 : Kandy
After breakfast today, we will visit the ruined temples of Embekke, Gadaladeniya, Lankatilleke, and the Peradeniya Botanical
Gardens. Returning to Kandy, a picturesque lakeside city, we will explore the lake, bazaar, gem museum, and lapidary.
We will also make a stop at the Ceylon Tea Museum, which is housed in a beautifully refurbished old building and showcases
a variety of vintage tea-processing machinery.
In the evening, we will have the opportunity to tour the Temple of the Tooth and later enjoy a traditional cultural dance show.
Day 07 : Kandy
Today is a free day for you to relax at the hotel.
Day 08 : Nuwara Eliya via Kitulgala
Leaving Kandy early, we have a spectacular drive through the countryside on the way to Kitulgala. Here, we have the opportunity to go on a walk through the jungle or visit local villages, followed by an optional white-water rafting excursion. After that, we proceed to the British Tea Plantation Colonial Capital of Nuwara Eliya.
Day 09 : Nuwara Eliya
This morning, we have free time to explore the beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya, which was a popular hill station during the British era. It is situated in the cool highland air and is known locally as Little England. The town is dotted with British-style houses and parks, and it features a golf club. After lunch, we will visit a nearby tea plantation and factory to learn about the tea-making process.
Day 10 : Nuwara Eliya - Ella
We have an early start this morning and take a 19-mile (30km) drive south to Horton Plains, a large plateau more than 6,560ft (2,000m) high, overlooked by the second and third highest peaks in Sri Lanka. The scenery is beautiful, and the best way to explore is on foot. We take a guided walk through the rolling grasslands, where we hope to see monkeys. We also visit World's End, where the ground drops 3,445ft. After that, we leave for Ella.
Day 11 : Ella
In the morning, enjoy a tour of the tea plantation and learn about one of the nation's most popular exports, followed by a tea tasting. Afterward, take some free time to soak in the stunning scenery. You can choose to hike to Ella Rock or visit Ella town by tuk-tuk. Also we visit the Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adam's Peak. In the evening, enjoy a cooking demonstration of classic homestyle Sri Lankan dishes, which are a delicious mixture of savory and sweet.
Day 12 : Thissamaharama
Today, we continue on to Ella Gap, where we have spectacular views of the coastal plain nearly 3,280ft below. Almost the entire southern part
of the island is in view, and the shimmering Indian Ocean is visible to the south. As we travel to Thissamaharama, we will visit the Ravana
waterfalls en route.
After checking in at the hotel in Tissamaharama, we will spend the afternoon visiting Yala, the best-known national park in Sri Lanka. Yala is home
to elephants, leopards, bears, crocodiles, and wild boars. The park, primarily shrub jungle with several salt and freshwater lagoons, is
also home to the world's highest density of leopards.
Day 13 : Mirissa
After breakfast, we will leave for the coastal city of Mirissa. This will be your paradise for two days of relaxation, with your comfortable accommodation just meters away from the water.
Day 14 : Mirissa
Enjoy a day of beach splendor in Mirissa. The beach itself is a long curve of sand with lovely, clear waters for swimming – a great spot to watch the sunset. There are also optional activities, including whale watching off Dondra Head. It is one of the best places in the world for seeing blue and sperm whales.
